Adralyn, Nick and the whole team at Blue Sky Homes (and Urban Blue Realty) are the absolute best! In a previous life, Adralyn worked as a campaign organizer and in Congressman Harry Mitchell’s district office after her Teach for America service, thus I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Adralyn & Nick for years. After Adam and I got married and started looking for a slightly bigger and updated home than my Elna Rae digs (ie bigger closets, dishwasher, indoor laundry, etc), we looked to Urban Blue Realty for help. After months of searching, we realized there wasn’t going to be a “perfect” house unless it was rebuilt from the ground up. Enter Blue Sky Homes! Nick would be on the lookout for gut/rebuild opportunities and/or a piece of dirt we could start from. Well, Nick found us some great dirt and after a little over a year of planning, permitting and historic desk negotiating – we couldn’t be more happy, grateful or appreciative of everything they did to make our vision of our first home together become a reality. Not to mention, they timed the renovation and sale of the Tempe house perfectly! I imagine that it could be challenging to work with family and/or friends, particularly when expectations are high, budgets are finite and neither party wants to disappoint each other. It was a process, one in which Nick and Adralyn handled with an unmatched level of patience and grace, especially when our varied levels of stress and concerns were evident. Thank you guys. You’re the best. Your homes are beautiful and we couldn’t have done this without you. We love the house, we love you and look forward to having you over for cocktails (and/or a candidate fundraiser) soon! If you’re in the market to buy, sell or invest – please consider Blue Sky. They are good people, with a great team that will do quality work for you. The fact that they purposely plan for front porches with their homes to encourage often and intentional interactions with neighbors may provide a small glimpse into their values. Plus, I know they still put in volunteer hours and canvass on weekends for like-minded individuals across the Valley because that’s who they are and what they do.
